Novica is a mathematical genius: intelligent, seemingly likeable and almost invisible among his high-school peers. In a heightened state brought on by alcohol and his desire to step out of the shadows and prove himself to his new skinhead friends, their leader Relja and especially Relja's girlfriend, he commits a terrible crime: he kills a young Roma man. Instead of remorse, he is swept up by the fame he gains in his new circle. He quickly takes Relja's place in both the group and the girl's life, and plans another racist attack.
